IELTS Speaking Test: How to Prepare with Coaching in Gurgaon

The IELTS Speaking test is a face-to-face interview with a certified examiner lasting 11 to 14 minutes. For many Gurgaon students, this is the most anxiety-provoking part of the test, but with proper IELTS coaching in Gurgaon, you can build the confidence and skills needed for a high band score.

Our IELTS coaching in Gurgaon includes regular speaking practice with trained instructors. This guide explains how to prepare for each part of the Speaking test.

Understand the three parts of IELTS Speaking

Part 1 lasts 4 to 5 minutes and covers familiar topics like home, work, studies and interests. Part 2 gives you 1 minute to prepare a 2-minute talk about a given topic. Part 3 is a 4 to 5-minute discussion about broader issues related to the Part 2 topic.

Part 1: Extend your answers

Give answers that are 2 to 4 sentences long. Add a reason, an example or a brief explanation to extend your response. Do not give one-word answers. Practice speaking about everyday topics fluently and naturally.

Part 2: Use the preparation time wisely

Read the task card carefully. Note down key words and ideas during the 1-minute preparation. Structure your 2-minute talk with an introduction, two main points and a conclusion. Practice with a timer regularly. Our PTE vs IELTS guide explains how IELTS Speaking differs from computer-based speaking tests.

Part 3: Discuss abstract ideas

Part 3 questions are more abstract and analytical. Practice discussing causes, effects, comparisons and predictions. Support your opinions with reasons and examples. Do not worry if the examiner challenges your view; this is part of the test format.
